What We Believe

The Mission

The Vision

The mission of Webster United Methodist Church is to make disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We do this by relentlessly leading our church to become outwardly focused and spiritually centered Christ followers.
The vision of Webster United Methodist is to be a diverse faith family seeking to love, grow, and serve! We do so by placing priority on our prime concerns of justice and missions in our neighborhood and across the world, until all come to know the love of Christ.

What We Believe

The following are the core beliefs of Webster United Methodist
based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible.  All of our
teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of scripture. We believe the living core
of the Christian faith was revealed in scripture, is illuminated by tradition,
brought to life in experience, and confirmed by reason.

GOD

There is one God who has three distinct persons: God the Creator, God the Redeemer, and God the Holy Spirit. God is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.

God is the Redeemer who came into the world as Jesus in order to heal and make us whole.

The Holy Spirit now lives in and guides us to seek God and one another in love.
God desires healthy and loving relationships with each of us and with all of God's creation.

INCLUSIVITY

We welcome into the full life of our church, people of every race, ethnicity, social or economic status, age, faith history, physical or mental ability, family configuration, sexual orientation and gender identity.
We are a reconciling congregation that welcomes and affirms LGBTQ+ persons believing that all people deserve full inclusion in every aspect of church life.
We believe that through diversity, our community of faith will flourish as we commit ourselves to spread love, justice and hope in the world.

COMMUNION

Each Sunday we gather at Christ's Table to share in the Sacrament of Holy Communion. We believe this table belongs to Christ, not to Webster or even to United Methodists.  We believe Christ invites to this table all who desire to be in deeper relationship with God. We believe Christ established the Lord's Supper that we might be reminded externally of the grace God pours into us internally. We use grape juice so that all can be included.
